HONOLULU — Several Oahu-based Coast Guard units hosted an educational exposition for local high school students at the Coast Guard Base Support Unit, Honolulu, Friday.
The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Exposition is a collaborative initiative to promote core technological fields and develop future innovators. The program is designed to allow high school students the opportunity to see how the Coast Guard applies science, technology, engineering and math in its everyday uses.
More than 100 high school students from Oahu learned about Coast Guard tools of the trade and viewed a search and rescue demonstration by an Air Station Barbers Point MH-65 Dolphiin helicopter air crew.
