U.S. Coast Guard members join in National Safe Boating Week proclamation signing

HONOLULU – Representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard, state and local agencies attend the proclamation signing for National Safe Boating Week by Hawaii Lt. Gov. James R. “Duke” Aiona Jr. at the Hawaii State Capitol, May 4, 2010. Attendees included Rear Adm. Stephen E. Mehling, chief of staff for the 14th Coast Guard District, representatives from the Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Department of Land and Natural Resources and Honolulu Sail and Power Squadron. National Safe Boating Week runs from May 22-28, 2010, and is an annual campaign to raise awareness about safe boating practices on the water. Click here to see more information on boating safety.
