HONOLULU – Coast Guard crewmembers from Air Station Barbers Point work with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration officials during a whale transport from Maui to the Big Island, Aug. 16, 2010. The Coast Guard crews utilized an HC-130 Hercules aircraft and flatbed truck from Air Station Barbers Point to transport the estimated 12-foot, 1,600-pound beaked whale to Hilo’s marine mammal rehabilitation facility.
