<p>WHERE: In the vicinity of Nawiliwili Bay, Kauai.</p>
<p>WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.</p>

			<title>Coast Guard to hold educational exposition for local students</title>

<p><b>HONOLULU </b>&mdash;&nbsp;&nbsp;Several Oahu-based Coast Guard units&nbsp;are scheduled to take part in an educational exposition for local high school students at&nbsp;Coast Guard&nbsp;Base Support Unit Honolulu at 9 a.m., Friday.</p>
<p>The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Exposition is a collaborative&nbsp;initiative to promote core technological fields and develop future innovators.</p>
<p>Approximately 100 students from Governor Wallace Rider Farrington High School, Kahuku High School, home-schooled children and a student for Kauai High School will have an opportunity to visit Coast Guard boats and helicopters and interact with Coast Guardsmen from various shore and afloat units.</p>
<p>&ldquo;We look forward to showcasing the various missions of the Coast Guard each year to the students.&nbsp; It gives them a better understanding of what the Coast Guard does,&rdquo; said Cmdr. Maria Galman, the S.T.E.M. coordinator for the 14th Coast Guard District.</p>
<p>An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Barbers Point is scheduled to conduct a search and rescue demonstration in Honolulu Harbor following the exposition.</p>
<p>The S.T.E.M. exposition at Sand Island is not open to the public; however, members of the media are invited to attend. Please contact the 14th Coast Guard District public affairs team at 808-535-3230&nbsp;by 3 p.m. Thursday.</p>

				<div><p>Who: Coast Guard crewmembers from Station Maui, Air Station Barbers Point,&nbsp;Coast Guard Auxiliary, Ocean Safety, Maui Police and Fire Department are scheduled to participate in a joint search and rescue exercise.</p>
<p>What: Crews are scheduled to display their emergency response equipment Monday in advance of a multi-agency&nbsp;search and rescue exercise Wednesday.&nbsp;Media are invited to attend an open house to learn more about new interagency communication capabilities. Also on display will be rescue equipment, aircraft and rescue crews&nbsp;who will ba available for interviews.</p>

				<div><p>WHAT:&nbsp;Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point will be receiving a new MH-65 Dolphin helicopter, which will be replacing one of the current&nbsp;HH-65's. The new model will improve Coast Guard operability throughout the Hawaiian Islands. The Dolphin will be arriving partially dismantled in the back of an HC-130&nbsp;Hercules aircraft. &nbsp;</p>
<p>WHERE: Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point.</p>
<p>WHEN: Approximately 6 p.m. Staurday.</p>
<p>WHO: Interviews with air station subject matter experts will be coordianted for interested media.</p>
