				<div><p>WHO: Rear Adm. Charles W. Ray, 14th Coast Guard District commander, and Kauai Mayor Bernard P. Carvalho, Jr. will sign an agreement that sets forth terms by which&nbsp; Kauai Fire Department, County of Kauai Ocean Safety Bureau, Joint Rescue Coordination Center Honolulu, and Coast Guard Sector Honolulu will coordinate and carry out civil and military search and rescue support.</p>
<p>WHAT: Representatives from the Coast Guard and County of Kauai will sign a memorandum of agreement during a ceremony at city hall to improve search and rescue interoperability on and around Kauai.</p>
<p>WHERE: Kauai Fire Department Headquarters located in the Piikoi Building, Ste. 315,&nbsp;County of Kauai, 4444 Rice St., Suite 235, Lihue, Hawaii.</p>

			<title>Media Advisory: Coast Guard’s newest ship to visit Honolulu</title>

				<div><p>WHO:&nbsp;Media are invited aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Waesche to obtain imagery, video and to speak with representatives from the crew.</p>
<p>WHAT: The Coast Guard Cutter Waesche, the most technically advanced class of cutter in the Coast Guard, will be open to the media on&nbsp;Coast Guard Base Sand Island.&nbsp;</p>
<p>WHERE: Coast Guard Base Sand Island,&nbsp;400 Sand Island Access Rd.</p>
<p>WHEN: March 30, 2012, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.&nbsp;or 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Media are asked to arrive 15 minutes early and are invited to stay aboard for lunch with the crew. Interviews with the commanding officer will be held&nbsp;during the 8 a.m. availibility. Media arriving at 11 a.m. will have the opportunity to interview members of the crew.</p>

			<title>Media Advisory: Coast Guard Cutter Kukui exercising oil spill equipment</title>

				<div><p>WHO: Crewmembers aboard the <a href="http://www.uscg.mil/d14/cgckukui/" title="Link to Coast Guard Cutter Kukui webpage. ">Coast Guard Cutter Kukui</a> are scheduled to&nbsp;test their Spilled Oil Recovery System.</p>
<p>WHAT: This&nbsp;is a device used by <a href="http://www.uscg.mil/datasheet/175wlm.asp" title="Link to Coast Guard buoy tender webpage. ">Coast Guard buoy tenders</a> to assist in the cleanup of an oil spill.</p>
<p>WHERE: The Spilled Oil Recovery System will be tested aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Kukui. The ship is scheduled to deploy just outside the&nbsp;mouth of Honolulu Harbor&nbsp;if weather permits. If weather is not&nbsp;favorable, the crew will conduct the exercise in the turning basin of the harbor.</p>
<p>WHEN: The ship is scheduled to depart Sand Island at 9 a.m. Thursday.&nbsp;Media interested in attending are asked to be at the Sand Island Coast Guard base no later than 8:30 a.m.&nbsp;The point of contact for the media is Petty Officer 3rd Class Anthony L. <p><b>HONOLULU </b>&mdash;&nbsp;&nbsp;Several Oahu-based Coast Guard units&nbsp;are scheduled to take part in an educational exposition for local high school students at&nbsp;Coast Guard&nbsp;Base Support Unit Honolulu at 9 a.m., Friday.</p>
<p>The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Exposition is a collaborative&nbsp;initiative to promote core technological fields and develop future innovators.</p>
<p>Approximately 100 students from Governor Wallace Rider Farrington High School, Kahuku High School, home-schooled children and a student for Kauai High School will have an opportunity to visit Coast Guard boats and helicopters and interact with Coast Guardsmen from various shore and afloat units.</p>
<p>&ldquo;We look forward to showcasing the various missions of the Coast Guard each year to the students.&nbsp; It gives them a better understanding of what the Coast Guard does,&rdquo; said Cmdr. Maria Galman, the S.T.E.M. coordinator for the 14th Coast Guard District.</p>
<p>An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Barbers Point is scheduled to conduct a search and rescue demonstration in Honolulu Harbor following the exposition.</p>
<p>The S.T.E.M. exposition at Sand Island is not open to the public; however, members of the media are invited to attend. Please contact the 14th Coast Guard District public affairs team at 808-535-3230&nbsp;by 3 p.m. Thursday.</p>

<p>The investigation included assessment of soil, sediment and groundwater from Cocos Island and biota from the vicinity of the Former LORAN Station. This investigation was conducted as a follow-up investigation conducted by Element Environmental, LLC in 2008 and the remediation conducted by Unitek Environmental Guam in 2007.&nbsp;</p>
<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Objective:</span></b></p>
<p>The primary objective of this project was to further investigate potential PCB contamination in the beach-strand soils and near shore sediments from just east of Dano Park Dock, Merizo</p>
