Cmdr.&nbsp;Amy Wirts of U.S. Coast Guard Sector Guam leads a "Spill Management Table Top Exercise" for the Commonwealth of the Mariana Islands (CNMI) component of the Mariana Islands Area Committee July 7, 2009. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Participants in the exercise included representatives from CNMI's Department of Environmental Quality, Department of Fish and Wildlife, Department of Homeland Security, CNMI Emergency Management Office, Coastal Resources Management, Saipan Shipping, SEAFix, Mobil Oil Marianas, Shell Marianas, CNMI Department of Public Safety, the Commonwealth Ports Authority, Coast Guard Sector Guam and Coast Guard Marine Safety Detachment (MSD) Saipan. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">The "tabletop&nbsp;exercise" was designed to test and validate the Mariana Islands Area Contingency Plan, and to set the groundwork for a full scale National Preparedness for Response Program (NPREP) exercise in the CNMI in June 2010.</span></span></p>
